No purchase or payment necessary. Paying for anything on PromoteIndex does not improve your chances.

§01

The old way vs. the new way

The old way

  • Grinding SEO for months before anyone finds you
  • Cold-emailing blogs and directories, landing in spam
  • Paying for guest posts nobody reads
  • Waiting for someone, anyone, to notice the launch

The PromoteIndex way

  • AI agents browse PromoteIndex through JSON, MCP and llms.txt, and they recommend what they find
  • Your listing is live in one request; your AI can file it for you
  • Five votes from different visitors unlocks a followable link (see /seo)
  • Embed the badge, enter, and let the directory send people to you
§02

What the winner gets

  1. §01

7 days as the site-wide sponsor

Your project in the sponsor bar on every page, eligible for the homepage Promoted row and ticker, and marked promoted in the JSON API, MCP and llms.txt that AI agents read.

  2. §02

Winner spotlight on the contest page

Your photo, your story and what makes the project unique, shown to everyone who visits the contest.

  3. §03

    Featured in the PromoteIndex newsletter

Featured in the next newsletter issue after the win, as a sponsored item, if an issue is sent while your prize week runs or right after.

  4. §04

    Public views and click report

The same listing views and outbound-click report paid sponsors get.

Newsletter inclusion happens only if an issue is sent during or right after the prize week.

§03

How to qualify

  1. 01

    List your project

A live listing on PromoteIndex. Already listed? Use its slug and the edit key you received when you listed it.

  2. 02

Put the badge on your website

Paste the PromoteIndex badge embed on a public page of the same website as your listing (homepage, footer or about page). We fetch the page and check for it. It must stay up through the prize week.

  3. 03

    Tell us about it

What makes your project unique, and a short bio of you or your team. Add a one-line sponsor headline.

  4. 04

    Add a photo (optional)

A photo of you or a screenshot of the project. PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 2 MB.

  5. 05

    Pass review

Every entry is reviewed by a person before it can be shown or judged. Edits after approval go back to review.

§04

Point your AI

Prompt for your AI
Enter my project in the PromoteIndex Free Sponsor Week contest (https://promoteindex.com/contest).
1. Read https://promoteindex.com/api/v1/contest: it has the rules, the window, every step and the exact request formats.
2. If my project isn't listed yet, list it (POST /api/v1/projects or MCP submit_project) and save the edit key it returns.
3. Add the PromoteIndex badge embed for my listing to a public page of my website, deploy it, and confirm it is live.
4. Submit the entry (POST /api/v1/contest/entries or MCP enter_contest) with my slug, edit key, the page URL that shows the badge, what makes the project unique, a short bio, a one-line headline and, if I give you one, a photo.
5. Give me the preview link and the entry status. Keep the edit key private.

Paste this into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or any agent with web access. It reads the rules, lists your project if needed, installs the badge and submits the entry.

§05

Enter by hand

01 · Your listing

Your listing's slug: the part after /p/ in its URL. Not listed yet? List your project first.

The edit key you got when the project was listed (starts with pik_). It proves the project is yours. It is only sent to PromoteIndex and never stored in this browser.

02 · Badge and story

Homepage, footer or about page on the same site as your listing. Deploy it, then put that page's URL below.

0/60

2–60 characters.

0/90

10–90 characters.

0/800

40–800 characters.

0/800

A short autobiography: who you are, why you built it.

03 · Photo (optional)

A photo of you or a screenshot of the project. PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 2 MB.

§06

How we judge

  • Interesting idea

Is the concept original, surprising or ambitious? Does it differ from what already exists?

  • Execution

Does the project work, and does it feel like a real product rather than a placeholder?

  • Story

Do the entry and bio make a clear, honest case for who it helps and why you built it?

  • Community signal (minor)

Votes and interest are considered, but they are not the main factor. This is not a popularity contest, and vote manipulation disqualifies.

Votes are a minor signal, not the deciding factor. Coordinated, automated or purchased votes disqualify the entry.

§07

Approved entries

No approved entries yet. Entries appear here after a person reviews them.
