No purchase necessary
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
Submitting an entry means you agree to these Official Rules, which form a contract between you (and anyone you enter for) and PromoteIndex, which operates promoteindex.com (the "Sponsor").
1. Dates
Entry Period: Friday, October 23, 2026, 12:00 a.m. ET through Tuesday, October 27, 2026, 11:59 p.m. ET. Entries received before the Entry Period opens or after it closes are not accepted. The Sponsor's server clock is the official timekeeper.
Judging Period: October 28, 2026 (about 24 hours after entries close). Winner announced on or around October 29, 2026 on promoteindex.com/contest.
2. Eligibility
Open to individuals who are at least the age of majority where they live at the time of entry, and to organizations that legally exist at the time of entry and enter through an authorized individual (the "Representative"). By entering for a team or organization you confirm you are authorized to do so.
Not open to: residents of, or organizations based in, any place where the contest or receiving the prize is prohibited by U.S. or local law, including countries and regions subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions (OFAC); the Sponsor's owners, employees, contractors and judges, and their immediate family and household members; anyone whose participation would create a real or apparent conflict of interest, as decided by the Sponsor.
The project entered must be eligible for listing under the Terms (Project eligibility). Projects that resell third-party accounts, subscriptions, credits or keys are not eligible.
3. How to enter
Enter during the Entry Period on promoteindex.com/contest, through the public API (POST /api/v1/contest/entries) or through the PromoteIndex MCP tool enter_contest. An AI agent may enter on your behalf; you are responsible for everything it submits.
A complete entry has: (a) a live PromoteIndex listing for the project and that listing's edit key; (b) the PromoteIndex badge embed for that listing on a publicly reachable page of the same website as the listing; (c) a statement of what makes the project unique; (d) a short bio of the maker or team; (e) a one-line headline; and optionally (f) one photo of the maker or the project.
One entry per project per round. You may edit your entry until the Entry Period closes; an edit to an approved entry returns it to review. Entering a project you do not own or are not authorized to represent is not allowed.
The badge must remain on the page through the end of the prize week. The Sponsor may re-check it at any time; a missing badge may disqualify the entry or end the prize.
4. Entry content
Text limits: headline 10–90 characters; unique 40–800; bio 40–800. Photos: PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 2 MB. Entries must be in English or include an English translation.
Your entry and project must be your own original work or used with permission, and must not infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights. Only submit a photo of a person if you are that person or have their permission. Entries must not contain malware, unlawful, deceptive, hateful, sexual or otherwise inappropriate content.
Every entry is reviewed by a person before it is shown publicly or judged. The Sponsor may reject, hide or remove any entry in its sole discretion. Approval is not an endorsement, test or certification of the project.
5. Judging
Stage one (pass/fail): the listing is live, the badge is verified on the website, the entry is complete and approved, and the project is eligible.
Stage two: qualifying entries are judged by the Sponsor's judges on these equally weighted criteria: Interesting idea (Is the concept original, surprising or ambitious? Does it differ from what already exists?) Execution (Does the project work, and does it feel like a real product rather than a placeholder?) Story (Do the entry and bio make a clear, honest case for who it helps and why you built it?) Community signal (minor) (Votes and interest are considered, but they are not the main factor. This is not a popularity contest, and vote manipulation disqualifies.)
Votes are a minor signal, not the deciding factor. Coordinated, automated or purchased votes disqualify the entry. Judging may use human review, AI-assisted analysis or both. Judges are not required to use or test every project. Ties are broken by the Interesting idea score, then Execution, then a vote of the judges. Decisions of the Sponsor and its judges are final and binding.
The Sponsor will award one prize if it receives at least one qualifying entry it judges worthy, and may decline to award if none qualifies.
6. Prize
Prize: 7 consecutive days of the PromoteIndex weekly sponsorship placement for the winning listing, free of charge. 7 days as the site-wide sponsor: Your project in the sponsor bar on every page, eligible for the homepage Promoted row and ticker, and marked promoted in the JSON API, MCP and llms.txt that AI agents read. Winner spotlight on the contest page: Your photo, your story and what makes the project unique, shown to everyone who visits the contest. Featured in the PromoteIndex newsletter: Featured in the next newsletter issue after the win, as a sponsored item, if an issue is sent while your prize week runs or right after. Public views and click report: The same listing views and outbound-click report paid sponsors get.
The prize is a promotional placement only. It has no monetary or cash value, no cash alternative, and is not transferable or exchangeable. The Sponsor may substitute a comparable promotional placement. No specific impressions, clicks, rankings, traffic or sales are promised.
The prize starts after the winning listing passes the same sponsorship review that applies to paid sponsorships, and within 14 days of the announcement unless the Sponsor and winner agree otherwise. If the winner cannot be verified, does not respond within 7 days of notice, fails review or is ineligible, the prize may be forfeited and awarded to a runner-up.
Winners are responsible for any taxes or fees connected with the prize.
7. Licence and publicity
You keep ownership of your project and entry. By entering you grant the Sponsor a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, review, display, reproduce and publish your entry (including your name or display name, photo, bio, project name, logo and description) on PromoteIndex, its API, MCP server, feeds, newsletter and promotional material about the contest, during the contest and for one year after, without further payment where permitted by law.
You may withdraw an entry at any time with DELETE /api/v1/contest/entries/{slug} (edit key required) or by contacting the Sponsor; withdrawn entries are removed from public pages.
8. Fair play
The Sponsor may disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, manipulates votes or traffic (including bots, vote rings or purchased votes), submits misleading information, abuses the API, or acts in a way that is unsportsmanlike or unlawful.
The Sponsor may cancel, suspend or modify the contest if fraud, technical failure or any other factor impairs its integrity, and may then judge the eligible entries received before the problem.
9. Release and limitation of liability
By entering you release and hold harmless PromoteIndex and its owners, operators, contractors and judges from claims arising from your entry, your participation, or the acceptance or use of the prize, except where prohibited by law.
The Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, incomplete or corrupted entries, failed badge checks caused by your website, or technical failures of any kind. If an entry is lost through the Sponsor's error, your sole remedy is a prompt request to resubmit.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
10. Disputes and general terms
These Official Rules are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are resolved individually, without class actions, where permitted by law.
If these Official Rules conflict with any other contest material, these Official Rules control. The PromoteIndex Terms and Privacy Policy also apply. The Sponsor may update these rules; changes take effect when posted. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
AI assistants, including the PromoteIndex API and MCP responses, are a convenience and not the official source of rules. If anything an AI says conflicts with this page, this page controls.
11. Your information
We store your entry, an optional photo and technical data needed to run the contest. Your edit key is never shown publicly. Approved entries are public. Unapproved entries are visible only through your private preview link and to the Sponsor's reviewers. See the Privacy Policy for details.
